3/8/2013 - While the outside of this resort looks like something built in the 60's, inside the rooms were completely redone and were very nice. Location is fantastic, best pina colada's I had the whole week in Florida came from their bar. Posted by Sue (Sparks, MD)

Directions from Ft. Myers Airport:
Take I-75 to exit 39 (which is Fruitville Rd.) Go west on
Fruitville to Main St. Follow Main Street to John Ringling
Causeway. Take the causeway over the intracoastal waterway
to St. Armands Circle and take the second right toward the
beaches. Go about 1 mile and the Helmsley is on the right.
Directions from Generic Directions:
Go to I-75. Take I-75 to exit 39 in Sarasota (which is
Fruitville
Rd.) Go west on Fruitville Rd. to Main St. Follow Main St.
to
John Ringling Causeway. Take the causeway over the
intracoastal
waterway to St. Armands Circle and take the second right
toward
the beaches. Go about 1 mile and the Helmsley Sandcastle is
on the
right.
Directions from Orlando Airport:
From Orlando Int'l Airport take Bee Line Expwy. west to I-4.
Take I-4 all the way west to the intersection of I-75. Take
I-75 toward Naples to exit 39 in Sarasota (which is
Fruitville Rd.) Go west on Fruitville Rd. to Main St. Follow
Main St. to John Ringling Causeway. Take the causeway over
the intracoastal waterway to St. Armands Circle and take the
second right toward the beaches. Go about 1 mile and the
Helmsley is on the right.
Directions from Sarasota Airport:
Take US 41 south for approx. 4 miles to Main Street. Take
Main St. to the John Ringling Causeway (goes over the water
- 2 bridges) west to St. Armands Circle. Take the 2nd right
(Lido Beach sign) to Ben Franklin Dr. Take Ben Franklin Dr.
south for approx. 1 mile and you will see The Harley
Sandcastle on your right hand side.
Directions from Tampa Airport:
Take I-275 south to I-75. Take I-75 to exit 39 in Sarasota
(which is Fruitville Rd.) Go west on Fruitville Rd. to Main
St. Follow Main St. to John Ringling Causeway. Take the
