About Turnberry Isle Miami Soffer Course
World Golf Hall of Famer Raymond Floyd completely redesigned both championship courses from tee to green and the results are nothing short of spectacular. In doing so, he also changed the landscape of Florida golf. It's golf unlike any other in the Sunshine State with gently countoured fairways, doglegs, spectaclar water features, and more elevation changes than is often seen in this part of the state. The Soffer Course (previously the South) had been a typical 1970s Florida resort track - flat, short and with water as the focal point. Floyd added elevation changes plus plenty of contours on the 7,047-yard layout. The water remains, but the dominant theme now is extensive landscaping, with new palms and lush tropical flora lining fairways. Several faux waterfalls have been added - one rising 64 feet next to the par-5 18th's island green. The Turnberry Isle Miami is the official host of the ADT Golf Skills Challenge and The Stanford International Pro Am, an official LPGA tour event.
