Customer Reviews
4/3/2009 - Nice golf course. Good layout and interesting. Would like to play again. I thought it was the best golf course on our trip. Posted by Chas (Camberley, Surrey, UK)

2/24/2009 - Another very cold day. Good course, tough layout, some very interesting holes like the hanging tree hole. Posted by Charlie (Superstition Mountain, AZ)

6/19/2008 - The course was one of the most interesting layouts we played on our trip. Posted by Gary (Brook Park, OH).

4/24/2008 - Course was pretty nice and service was good. Course is overpriced and I wouldn't replay unless the green fees were reduced or a special rate was offered. Other courses in the immediate area, such as the King and the Bear are as nice or better with even better service for a cheaper green fee. I requested early tee time and was provided a time of 11am which was ok but disappointing when I discovered the course was rather uncrowded. I figured my time was several hours later than I requested due to tee times being taken but this was not the case.

3/14/2008 - Very nice private club. We were put off at first but the staff treated us like members once we got going. Nice course, not overly difficult but enjoyable. Posted by Frank.

Palencia is a prestigious private club that opened in 2002 in St. Augustine. Designed by Arthur Hills/Steve Forrest and Associates, it is one of the most challenging courses in the area. Demanding but fair, Palencia offers magnificent natural beauty and several picturesque holes, including numbers three, six and 16; Hole three, called "Leaning Tree," features a mature live oak whose main trunk reaches across the fairway and into the line of play. Number six features a high green with a view of the tidal marshes and Intracoastal Waterway. 16, the course's signature hole, is framed by magnificent oak forests and offers a wide view of the Intracoastal Waterway behind the low, open green.
