Customer Reviews (119)

3/20/2010 - Out in the sticks but this course is a gem. Great holes, reasonable shape (good greens for the time of year/winter) and wonderful scenery. Don't expect an upscale country club type clubhouse, but the course makes up for that. Reviews and ratings fully justified. Posted by Bill (Flagler Beach, FL)

3/17/2010 - This was our favorite golf course. The views were very nice and the employees were very friendly. Posted by Don (Florissant, MO)

3/11/2010 - Nice course. We have played this 4 years in a row on a 5 day golf outing. Front nine is a little narrow. The back 9 is the nicer of the 2 sides with the last three holes the best on the course. Has a tendency to be crowded. Posted by Bill (Brooklyn Park, MN)

3/11/2010 - Diamondback golf course is one of the most beautiful golf courses in Florida. Even though it was cold, the course was in great condition and the staff there was top notch. I will visit that coures whenever I'm in the area. Posted by Andre (Royal Palm Beach, FL)

3/8/2010 - This course would be fun to play if the staff would give you a little more time. Course was very crowded. Loved the fact that no houses line any of the fairways. Posted by Kenneth (Old Orchd Bch, ME)

3/5/2010 - We would like to have another crack at this course. Several blind carries over fenced in environmental areas. Would have been more fun if we had been with a local. The drive is worth it to this course, it is located near Haines City. The only issue was an over zealous players assistant who was making sure we knew the pace of play. One of the people we got matched up was a non-golfer with rental clubs and tennis shoes and his companion was on her cell phone while hitting shots. Enough said! Posted by Dan.

3/4/2010 - Great course! I'd play again next year. Very challenging. Posted by Bruce (Watervliet, NY)

3/4/2010 - This was probably the lowest rated course that we played as compared to Highlands Reserve, Orange Lake Reserve, and Royal St. Cloud. Posted by Joe (Williamsport, MD)

2/19/2010 - Nice golf course but over five and half hours to play. Slow play and marshal/club house refused to take action. Would not recommend this course. Posted by Craig (Aurora, Canada)

2/12/2010 - WOW what a course. Beautiful layout. Not female friendly but well within most ability. Posted by John (Martins Creek, PA)

2/11/2010 - I like this course. We are satisfied . Posted by Ho (Paramus, NJ)

2/11/2010 - This was an interesting choice. Played two times in one day. First round took 3.5 hours. Second round took 5.5 hours. A target course but fairly straightforward. Second round was agonizingly slow. Didn't seem to be any control of spacing betweek groups on tee #1. As soon as the group ahead cleared, it was hit away. There were three groups on every hole. Tee, fairway and green making for a very long, round of golf. Would not do this again. Had a muni feel to it. Without the long wait is was a fun course. Posted by Glenn (Norwalk, CT)

2/11/2010 - Course was in great shape. The staff always friendly. They help you to manage the course and time. Links style on many holes. Always on my play list. Posted by Edward (Annapolis, MD)

1/28/2010 - I'm a 20 handicapper and this course ate me up....and we played 36 that day. Very tight fairways and protected greens. Didn't break a 100. Would try again on next trip...maybe. Posted by Larry (Tinley Park, IL)

1/14/2010 - I enjoyed the course. This is a very good place. The personnel was nice. I thank you very much. Posted by Pierre (Bristol, CT)

12/22/2009 - One of my favorites. Always on my list to play when in town. Tight course so loosen up playing some where else before coming here, enjoy the scenery. Posted by Don (Houston, TX)

12/22/2009 - A throwback course where you must control your ball in order to score well. Put your driver away and work on your iron play before you play this underrated course. Will test every aspect of your game. Posted by Shawn (White Plains, MD)

12/21/2009 - Just go there and play it. A friendly little club with some of the toughest driving holes I've ever played. Posted by Paul (York, United Kingdom)

11/20/2009 - All I would say is there is not a course I know that the first five holes are the hardest I have ever played - "What A Test". Posted by Tony (Dunstable, United Kingdom)

10/3/2009 - This is our first time playing Diamondback. We found it to be very challenging, but absolutely beautiful, both the maintained areas and the "rough" as well. Definitely, we will be back to play Diamondback again. Posted by Gary (Clearwater, FL)

9/17/2009 - Course is in good shape now. Must be the slow season because no starter or cart person on the course. Posted by Steve (Whitby, Canada)

8/31/2009 - Wonderful course if you are looking for a challenge with a small price tag. Lengthy holes with beautiful fairways. Extremely narrow...if you are a high handicapper like myself...bring plenty of balls. Would definitely play there again. Posted by Jeffery (Swansea, MA)

8/21/2009 - A tough and interesting course, and if you tend to spray the ball a little bring plenty of spares with you as recovery from the undergrowth is not advised. Nice lay out, with greens in reasonable condition, but some tees were the worse for wear, fairways reasonable. Buggies need GPS. Speed of play very good with friendly clubhouse catering well for golfer's 19th hole needs. Posted by Robert (Essex, United Kingdom)

5/28/2009 - A course I wish we had skipped. The condition was poor. The layout of the golf course was interesting but not worth the ride. Posted by John (Monroe Twp, NJ)

5/11/2009 - Great customer service. The course was in great shape. The staff went above and beyond what was expected to make our golfing experience one to remember. Posted by Ned (San Antonio, TX)

4/20/2009 - Despite very cool and extremely windy conditions, I was very impressed with this course. It's rated as one of the least expensive but that's not indicative of the track. Beautiful surroundings. No houses. Bit of a drive but I feel that it was well worth it given the value for money. I'd absolutely play this one again. Posted by Brian (Ancaster, ON CANADA)

4/10/2009 - The course was beautiful and the staff was very friendly. We got there 20 minutes late, but we were not rushed and had a great time playing.

4/2/2009 - Nice course. Challenging, with some tight fairways. Not an upscale course but very enjoyable to play. This was our 4th year including Diamondback in a golf vacation. Posted by Bill (Brooklyn Park, MN)

4/2/2009 - This is the 2nd time we played this course. The first was in 2008. The experience was not quite as good as the pace of play was very slow at 5 1/2 hours for a threesome. Fun course but would not return. Posted by Bruce (Elora, ON)

4/2/2009 - We all thought the course was very good and the breakfast was great. Thank You. Posted by Frank (Stockton, IL)

3/31/2009 - Great, liked very much. Posted by Michael (Lockport, NY)

3/29/2009 - One of our favorite courses. Fair to golfers of most levels and great people staff course. Posted by Atherton (Ellington, CT)

3/26/2009 - This course kicked our butt when we started playing golf 8 years ago. This is the first time back since then. As far as the amenities go, this is quite far down in the pecking order. As far as golf goes, it is a tough test that requires course management and in some cases precision. We will play this one every couple of years. Posted by Anthony (Kendall Park, NJ)

3/26/2009 - Nice starter course. Greens in good shape, fairways dry and hard. Posted by Roger (Rockford, IL)

3/20/2009 - All four courses played were in good shape. Everyone in my group enjoyed playing on the courses. Posted by Louis (Amityville, NY)

3/20/2009 - Great Course. We always play it at least once per trip. We usually see an eagle somewhere on the course. The absolute best value in the area. Posted by Robert (Attica, MI)

3/20/2009 - Nice course. Breakfast was good but service was a little slow. Other than that a very enjoyable experience.
Posted by Mike (Canton, OH)

3/19/2009 - Great golf course and very challenging. Greens are smooth and fast and the fairways are narrow. Posted by Robert (Owensboro, KY)

3/19/2009 - The best cours! Posted by Enrique (Miami, FL)

3/19/2009 - Best of the lot. Would play it every day. Long, challenging, remote (no homes on course). Beautiful layout. Warm reception. Posted by Claude (St Andre D'argenteuil, QC CANADA)

3/19/2009 - VERY DRY, NOT A 4 STAR. Posted by Russ
(Bridgeton, NJ)

3/17/2009 - Not the nicest facilities out there. Not sure what was up with the clubhouse. It looked like an old trailer. The course was very dry and you better hit the ball dead center of the fairway here or you're going to spend a lot of time searching since the rough won't stop the ball whatsoever. If I were to visit Orlando again, I would not play this course.
Posted by Neil (New Kensington, PA)

3/17/2009 - Love the couse. Great maintenance. Fast & true greens. Distances are accurate. Lots of fun! Posted by Chris

3/13/2009 - Great layout but in fair condition. They need watering. Posted by John (Plainfield, IL)

3/12/2009 - Extremely tight fairways - bring either your best game or lots of balls. Most of the rough was designated as a lateral hazard to speed up play. Very interesting layout and a good challenge. Posted by Ken (Syosset, NY)

3/12/2009 - Enjoyed the course. Probably the hardest of the 6 course we played while on our golf trip. But I would highly recommend this course as it has a lot of character.
Posted by Gary

3/8/2009 - Fair shape - greens were very good - fairways dry.
Posted by John (Thunder Bay, ON CANADA)

3/6/2009 - This was a decent course. The greens were nice and fast, the layout was good, but with the amount of nice courses in the Orlando area it didn't have anything that would make me want to come back. Posted by John (Poplar Grove, IL)

3/5/2009 - This will be the last time we play at this course. Our group played there last year. We finished playing in 4 and 1/2 hours but the the ranger kept following us till the 17th hole which made us very unconfortable and ruined our golf vacation. They placed a good skillful twosome behind us and blamed us on slowing down. Not for the average player. Posted by Kwo (Lynnfield, MA)

3/2/2009 - Very helpful staff. Posted by Lee (Kaukauna, WI)

3/1/2009 - Different than most courses in the area. Diamondback has lots of old growth -- large trees, Spanish moss -- elevation changes, and no homes on course. After gimmicky/unfair first hole, layout is interesting and diverse. Staff was on the surly side, challenging us when we sought to switch out a cart with balky breaks at the turn, but not grouchy enough to ruin a nice round. Posted by Jim.

2/28/2009 - Our group has played this course for the last seven years and will play it for the next seven years!!! Great layout. Good selection of food in the club house. Posted by Allen (Plymouth, MI)

2/23/2009 - What can you say about this course, it's a great test for the average golfer. We had a great time playing it. The greens were nice and fast and it played very fast. Posted by Gerald (Raytown, MO)

2/16/2009 - Excellent course and conditions are great, a real test of your game. Would definitely play there again and again.

2/12/2009 - I love this course. You have to play for position and a second shot to score low on this course. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Good course for your short game tune up. Posted by Edward (Annapolis, MD)

2/5/2009 - Good course and affordable rates. Very challenging in terms of club selection and shot selection. Posted by Rick (Bloomington, IL)

1/29/2009 - Toughest course we played. It kicked our butts. Too much trouble and tight fairways for us Northern flatlanders. Would not play again. Posted by Charles (Maumee, OH).

1/23/2009 - You have to hit the ball straight on this course lots of trouble. Bring extra golf balls due to area preservation off the fairways, a bit too tight for the higher handicap golfer. Posted by RG.

1/22/2009 - Nice course with very friendly staff. Undulating greens with some very tight driving holes. Course conditioning could be better but greens and tees were fine. Posted by Frank (Windsor, Canada).

1/15/2009 - Great track. Look forward to playing there again.
Posted by John (Naples, FL).

12/19/2008 - Okay, but of the four courses, this was in the poorest shape. Having said that, the starter was great and made us feel right at home. Posted by Ian (Mississauaga, Canada).

11/28/2008 - A fun course where the staff is warm and welcoming. A links style course. You have to play this course more than once because you will have a better feel for when you need to lay up or when you can go for it. A comfortable pace which allows a second round if you plan in advance. Very reasonably priced. I usually make this my first or second course to play when visiting Florida. Posted by Edward.

11/28/2008 - Tough course that can bring you to your knees if you play the wrong tees. Enjoyable. Posted by Steve (Port Sydney, Canada).

11/20/2008 - Great course, would definitely play it again. There was a large tournament there the same day we played, however, they sent us off before the tourny and we had no problems at all.
Posted by Al (Cambridge, Canada).

11/20/2008 - WOW! Glad we chose Diamondback as our final round of this 6 day tour of Orlando courses. Now our 8th round and we have now hit the tightest course of all that we have played. Tee shots need to be pretty accurate here depending on the blocks your playing from which determine whether you're pulling out the big stick or not. The Hooters Tour had just finished from the day before so the course was in total tour condition. Bunkers were immaculate, fairways and rough outstanding. Great course to finish our week at. Warning to all, definitely stay clear of the hazards, you might awaken something that you really don't want to deal with - lol!!! Tee Times I must say is an absolutely incredible service to deal with. They made everything SO SIMPLE and they were outstanding everytime I communicated with them. If my next golf trip is to Florida, I will ONLY do it through Tee Times USA. Thank You !!!!!!!!!!! Posted by Martin (Bolton, Canada).

10/17/2008 - Challenging with narrow fairways. Aim for the 150 at all times. Good condition. Excellent value for money. Friendly and courteous staff.

10/16/2008 - Course has great character, is lots of fun to play and is the best bargain as far as I'm concerned. Posted by Michael (Riverhead, NY).

7/24/2008 - Was a decent course but just needs some work. The other courses we played during the week were so much better than this one.

6/5/2008 - Played this course before and will more than likely always add it to my list as it is a good test of golf. Just next time may not play it first, need to get ready for this challenge.
Posted by Donald (Houston, TX).

6/5/2008 - Great surprise, not what you think of when playing Florida courses. Good facilities, nice staff, loved the closing hole!! Posted by Bill (Voorheesville, NY).

5/21/2008 - Played 36 holes. Very nice course. Very good shape. Might play again. Posted by Robert (Kenora, Canada).

5/19/2008 - Very well maintained course. The first few holes your drives need to be on point because of the tight fairways. Very challenging. Enjoyed it. Posted by Victor (Lithia, FL).

5/17/2008 - Nice old style course. Some heavily treed holes. Very nice condition. Fair challenge for all levels of golfers.
Posted by Tim (Geoergetown, Canada).

5/11/2008 - Tee boxes and fairways were in good shape. Could use more work on the greens, but an enjoyable course to play. Posted by Robert (Port St Lucie, FL).

4/24/2008 - The first four holes are very tight. The rest of the course is fine. For the price, this is a good choice. Suggest you play the short tees. Posted by Jim (Flagler Beach, FL).

4/24/2008 - A lovely course which provides a fair challenge for all levels of golfer. Greens are probably the slowest I have played on in Florida but in very good consistant condition. The only two things which let this course down were the clubhouse which was reminiscent of a large prefab and the elderly pro shop staff and starter who were generally quite miserable and abrupt. So in summary nice course, a shame about the clubhouse and staff!! Posted by Steven (Sussex, United Kingdom)

4/18/2008 - Our favorite course. Very challenging. We have learned to make this our second round rather than the first that we play. You must be able to place your shots. Posted by Robert (Attica, MI).

4/18/2008 - A nice course, but quite a drive from our lodging. Greens were slow but true. Posted by John (North Royalton, OH).

4/17/2008 - A nice layout for a Florida course. Felt all alone out on the course as the tree had good cover from each hole. Greens were very slow but we played the day after a complete wash out where many courses were closed due to standing water. Starters were friendly and accommodating. Posted by Mark (Flagler Beach, FL).

4/5/2008 - The course requires some upkeep. The greens were furry and slow. I had played the course several years ago and it was in much better shape then. Posted by Michael (Calgary, Canada).

4/3/2008 - A chance to hit every club in the bag! Posted by Brian (Bedford, NH).

4/3/2008 - This is a very nice course, but bring plenty of balls because it is tight. The fairways are fairly wide, but any ball sliced or hooked is headed into the thick undergrowth and gone. If you want a test of your straight shooting ability, on a pleasing scenic course with a friendly staff, this is the place to play. Posted by Darrel (De Witt, IA).

3/28/2008 - Great layout. Good condition except for painfully slow greens. Posted by Jay (Venetia, PA).

3/27/2008 - Tighter than most of the courses we play in the middle of the winter. A good value course but was quite a ride form Kissimmee. Posted by Ken (Northbridge, MA).

3/25/2008 - We loved this golf course and would play it again without hesitation. Posted by Helen (Brampton, Canada).

3/23/2008 - We played in the afternoon, very crowded both days, slow pace of play. Narrow course. Greens very slow. Very long drive. Staff very nice. Overall, we would not play again. Posted by Robert.

3/21/2008 - A best kept secret. Course is tight and reminds me of many courses in upstate New York. Is definitely on my list for next year. Posted by Chuck (Colonie, NY).

3/21/2008 - Small backwoods couse with a very tight layout. Spot shot golf is a must. Put away your driver. Courteous staff. Condition was fair. Posted by Jon (Chicago, IL).

3/20/2008 - Nice course, but our specific group would probably not play it on a future trip to the area. It seemed more narrow with significant problems if you missed the fairways. Posted by Chuck (Perrysburg, OH).

3/14/2008 - Treated us like members. Very nice and helpful. Good course. Posted by Roger (South Bend, IN).

3/13/2008 - A very enjoyable course and excellent value for money. The fairways are well guarded by trees/shrubs so accurate play is required. Well maintained course & friendly staff in the clubhouse. Two of our party played the course twice & I would definitely return. Posted by Ken.

3/13/2008 - WOW - nice course and tough. Really enjoyed this one and the staff were great to us. Posted by Tony (Gurnee, IL).

3/12/2008 - Not my favorite. Will not go back. Posted by Mike (Shelby Twp, MI).

3/12/2008 - The nicest course we played with high difficulty and challenges. Will want to play again. Posted by Terry (Appleton, WI).

3/11/2008 - Loved this course. Would definitely like to golf there again. Staff, starters - everyone was very accommodating. Tight fairways but was a great experience.

3/11/2008 - Okay for price. Greens in better shape this year. First four holes present some challenges with waste areas and over growth. Fairways were a little thin. Posted by David (Green Bay, WI).

3/7/2008 - We like the course for their layout, difficulty and price. We would recommend to anybody. Posted by Ken (Green Bay, WI).

3/6/2008 - Great course. Enough of a challenge at all levels. Have played here before and will return. Played slow for some reason this year. Close to a 5 hour round. Posted by Bill (Brooklyn Park, MN).

3/6/2008 - Loved Diamondback!! Great layout--not quite as tough as we thought it was going to be. Greens were a little rugged on a few holes--but not bad. We enjoyed the course A LOT! Would play again! Posted by Lawrence (Waukegan, IL).

3/6/2008 - It is a challenging golf course with friendly staff, great food and a relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend this course! The only small complaint that I have is that greens played fairly slow. Posted by Brad (Toronto, Canada).

2/29/2008 - Found this course to be very challenging. It is very popular with residents, very crowded, very tight for high handicappers. Play all your drives to the 150 markers and you will do well Posted by Ray (Fayette City, PA).

2/27/2008 - Very pretty course. We were loose and ready for action. Very enjoyable day. Staff was not overly friendly however. But we were there to play golf and not chat. Another excellent recommendation. Posted by Larry (Hopkins, MN).

2/8/2008 - Enjoyed playing the course. There were some interesting holes and the greens were in good shape. Fairways were a litle tight but fair. Would play again if we were in the area. Posted by Les (Cadillac, MI)

2/7/2008 - This was a very difficult course especially if you are coming out of the North and have not played in a while. Many character holes, but very penal if you stray. Not a course for the high handicapper (15 and above). Club house staff very pleasant and helpful in getting to places in Orlando. Told that a new clubhouse will be started which will change the sequencing of the holes. That is too bad in a way because the current 19th hole is one of the best finising holes we played. Posted by John (Dalton, MA).

2/7/2008 - Nice course. Was in excellent condition. Tight fairways and challenging approach shots. Greens were in excellent condition. Would definitely play this course again. Posted by Barbara (Victor, NY)

2/7/2008 - A good looking course, staff was very friendly. A lot like northern Michigan woodland courses with very little room off of the fairways. Greens in good shape. Enjoyed not having houses next to course. Would definitely play again. Posted by Les (Cadillac, MI)

2/1/2008 - Very nice course, although it is a little bit of a ride. Posted by James (Middleboro, MA).

2/1/2008 - Excellent course, very friendly and well organized. The course was well maintained and the greens exceptional. Of the four courses I played overall I thought this to be the best test of golf. I will definitely play it again. Posted by Russell (Nottingham, UK).

1/25/2008 - Great course, no houses around. Feels like you are in the jungle at times. Greens in great shape, really enjoyed it. Posted by Don (Navan, ON).

1/25/2008 - Great course and conditions along with a great value. Posted by Peter.

1/24/2008 - This course was great. Food and staff were excellent. We played two rounds here during our five day trip and one of the favorites amongst the group. Challenging and the course was in fantastic shape. Posted by Brandon.

12/12/2007 - As always. A very nice place to play. Very nice people. Got to hit the ball straight! Posted by Robert (Attica, MI).

12/1/07 - Great course, everything in great shape. Posted by Brian (Wixom, MI).

11/15/07 - Great value. Nice course and well conditioned. We will return Posted by Edward (Canada).

11/3/07 - No doubt, hands down everyone's favorite (and nobody seems to know about it...keep it that way!). Posted by John (S. Barrinton, IL).

10/21/07 - Really enjoyed this golf course. Greens and tees were in excellent shape as were the fairways. The fact that overseeding had taken place did not diminish the experience. Would play this course again. Posted by Don (Pinckney, MI).
