10/3/2012 - It has been several years since I have played Timacuan. It was a very pleasant day and we can only say positive things about the course and their hospitality. It is an extremely enjoyable course to play and was in excellent condition (soft in a few spots from heavy rains). Would not hesitate to recommend this course to anyone who enjoys golf.

01/06 - "The course is fun and sometimes forgiving, you have to hit the fairways and you can have a great day. Will play again and again".
"The front nine is wide open with good-sized greens, while the back has a more Carolina feel to it -- numerous lakes and tighter fairways lined by tall pine trees. The toughest tee shot comes on the par-four second, where you have to carry a lake -- hit it too well though and you run the risk of going through the fairway into another lake. Water is left of the green on the approach shot as well. The best par three is the 203-yard 16th." Tom Mackin, Golf Magazine, November 2002
The front nine holes of this course are a Scottish links-style with open fairways. The back nine holes have waste bunkers and water comes into play on several holes. Bobby Weed completed a renovation in 1996. The Timacuan Golf Academy is located on the premises.

Directions from Generic Directions:
The course is located east of I-4 in Lake Mary,
approximately 15 minutes north of downtown Orlando.
From the I-4 / CR 46 A (exit 101 A) intersection:
Take CR 46 A east to Rinehart Rd. Turn right and take
Rinehart Rd south to Timacuan Blvd. Turn left and take
Timacuan Blvd east for approx. 1 mile to the golf course on
your right.
Directions from Orlando Airport:
Go to the airport exit. Take Bee Line Expwy (Rte 528) west
Rte 417 (Greenway). Take Rte 417 north to one exit after you
cross over Lake Jesup (exit #49) Sanford Exit. Go to Lake
Mary Blvd. Turn left and take Lake Mary Blvd west to
Rinehart Rd. Take Rinehart Rd north 1 1/2 miles and Timacuan
G&CC is on right.
Directions from Sanford Airport:
Exit the airports and follow the sign to Lake Mary Blvd.
Take Lake Mary Blvd west (south west bound) for about 6
miles to Rinehart Rd. Take Rinehart Rd north for 2 miles to
Timacuan Blvd. Turn right and follow the signs to the
course.

About Timacuan Golf & Country Club
Situated just 15 minutes north of downtown Orlando in Lake Mary, Timacuan Golf & Country Club has been ranked "14th Best in the State" by Golfweek Magazine. The course winds through beautiful lakes and wooded areas. The second hole is rated as the "most challenging in Florida golf." Designed originally by Ron Garl, and recently renovated by TPC Architect Bobby Weed, the course features two very different nines: The rolling front nine is links-style with deep pot bunkers. Watch the wind and keep it low! The back nine is tree-lined with lots of pine. The back nine feels more like a course you would play up north and features several doglegs you won't forget.
