Customer Reviews (40)

4/1/2012 - Superb condition. Challenging course. Need to be on top of our game. Look forward to playing it each year. Posted by Bill (Mississauga, ON CANADA)

11/18/2011 - We always enjoy playing here. It's got a couple of trick holes but we're used to them and overall it's an interesting, well-kept and challenging layout. We'll skip it in the future if they're overseeding fairways again - long walks off the cartpath. Posted by Bill (Simsbury, CT)

10/11/2011 - What a beautiful course. It is tough if not an accomplished golfer. Posted by Barry (St Johns, NL CANADA)

6/5/2011 - Great course. Posted by Raymond (St. Petersburg, FL)

4/13/2011 - Nice course. Posted by Richard (Omaha, NE)

2/18/2011 - Beautiful layout. Course in excellent condition. We enjoyed our round vey much and would return to play Waterlefe at a future date. Posted by John (Jackson, NJ)

2/3/2011 - A daunting course and somewhat intimidating because of the water hazards. Friendly staff. well maintained Posted by John (47380 Ramar, FRANCE)

12/10/2010 - Our 2nd trip to Waterlefe. Had a really hard time 4 years ago as it was a very windy day. No such trouble this year. The 8 of us lost 72 balls this time out. An improvement of over 30 from last time. Some stunning views, and some scary tee shots. A fabulous challenge but don't expect to shoot low. I think it plays 6 shots tougher than an average course. If the wind blows watch out. Posted by Andy (St. John's, NL CANADA)

11/19/2010 - Our favorite course in the area. They just top-dressed and re-seeded fairways and tees, so it will be even better when we return in January. Top notch service throughout Posted by William (Simsbury, CT)

8/6/2010 - Great golf course, best course in the Sarasota/Bradenton area. Must play during your stay. Best greens around. Five star course. Staff was outstanding. Bring extra balls. Posted by David (Canada)

6/28/2010 - The course was beautiful and the staff was excellent. Course was difficult, surrounded by water, but very enjoyable. Highly recommended. Posted by Joe (The Villages, FL)

2/19/2010 - Great golf course. Great shape. Posted by Stephen (Havertown, PA)

2/13/2010 - One of our favorites. We have played this course every year for the past 5 years. Always in good condition. Many great golf holes. If you spray the golf ball, take plenty. Not for the timid golfer. Posted by Tom (Fuquay Varina, NC)

2/2/2010 - Let's see...it was 42 degrees, the winds were gusting to 25 mph, we were wearing all of our winter golf clothes and we still had an incredible time! This course is a "thinking" course; in other words, you don't just go and bomb your shots around it. What a track!! It's beautiful, it's difficult, it's addictive and I want to play it again in more favorable weather conditions. And watch out for hole #15 if you're hitting into a 25 mph wind in 42 degree weather as there is no room for error if you hit it short. It's a par 3 and I donated two Pro V1's to the golf Gods there...woe. I'm a 10 handicapper and was happy to walk away with an 88...I highly recommend this course. Posted by Steve (Cranberry Twp, PA)

1/18/2010 - Best course we played. Great layout, nice people. Enjoyed it and will play again. Posted by Bill (Clarksburg, WV)

11/6/2009 - Good golf course and helpful pro shop. Posted by Gene (Saddle River, NJ)

1/29/2009 - One of the most beautiful courses I've seen in Florida. Although we played on the coldest day in the last 30 years. However, the course was too difficult for our ability but had a blast anyway. Posted by Jim (Merrick, NY)

1/23/2009 - 3 star good, service, poor range, and interesting layout. Forced carries and crowned fairways make it difficult for the average player, very scenic. Posted by Gary (Keswick, VA)

12/11/2008 - Still one of the best courses in the area. Fabulous greens and one tough course. Lots of water, bring plenty of balls. Will be on my list every time, very friendly people everywhere. Posted by Robert (Scarborough, Canada).

12/3/2008 - Just loved those greens. Posted by JP (Sarasota, FL).

11/29/2008 - Great golf course, great condition. Posted by Ronald (Toronto, Canada).

10/26/2008 - What a course. Marvelous. Intimidating. Target golf. A lot of water. Know your clubs length and be precise. Not long but very challenging. Posted by Marc (Westmount, Canada).

7/1/2008 - WOW! A true test of your abilities. Fair, Fair, Fair but will kick your butt in a heart-beat. Do not get lulled into false sence of scoring here take the pars when available. The only feature better than the course is the staff. And make sure to hit the water driving range. It's a hoot! Posted by Steve

5/19/2008 - Always one of our favorite courses. It is a must play for every Florida golf vacation we take. Posted by Karen (Chesterfield Township, MI).

4/3/2008 - Very pleased and would golf again on next trip into the area. Positive recommendation. Posted by Daniel (Leechburg, PA).

3/31/2008 - Hardest course I have ever played. Played it twice and took off 7 strokes on the second round. Fairways and greens were not as nice as I expected they would be, but I would and will play there again. Posted by Zach (Toronto, Canada).

3/13/2008 - Upscale course but really quirky. Definite short makers course. Lots of places that eat shots you would have expected to be good, due to poor contouring. Great practice facility. Probably would not go back.

3/13/2008 - Backside is virtually unplayable for an average amateur. My handicap is 8, I found 14 and 15 to be "trick" holes. 16 and 17 require long carries on the drives to find the sloping fairways and water. Broke 90, but it was a struggle and had plenty of penalties. Posted by George (New Bern, NC).

3/7/2008 - Excellent course layout. Course had many memorable holes. It was, however, a "ball eater" but the experience was still very good. Posted by Robert (St. Joseph, MI).

2/28/2008 - We have played this tremendous course for about 6 years. It is a MUST PLAY. You will use every shot in your bag. Great visual course with lots of water and great views. Posted by Kurt (Collingswood, NJ).

2/4/2008 - Great condition, good greens, good layout but tricky. Nice location. Best of the seven courses played. Will hopefully play the course again before too long. Posted by Chas (Camberley, United Kingdom).

2/1/2008 - This is a very nice golf course. The greens and the fairways were in very nice shape. The course requires accuracy off the tee as there is water in play on almost every hole. Unless you are a 10 handicap or less, I would suggest playing the white tee boxes. I will play this course again next year.

2/1/2008 - Always a stop on our golf trip to the Bradenton area. We especially enjoy the views from the fairways. Posted by Jack (Maumee, OH).

1/25/2008 - Loved this course, was one of my favorites on the trip. Water on every hole, sometimes on both sides, would have liked to play it again. Posted by James (Brinston, Canada).

11/16/07 - Beautiful course, excellent condition, but extremely difficult for our group. Many blind shots and blind water hazzards. I personally would play again. Posted by Henry (Warminster, PA).

11/13/07 - Best greens in the area and one of the best layout. Very pleasant golf experience. Posted by J.P. (Sarasota, FL).

11/09/07 - Great course, hospitality was excellent. Great reception from staff at the proshop. Posted by Allan (Canada).

10/22/07 - Have played many courses in Florida over the years and this one is possibly the best. The tees were pristine leading to the best fairways I have come across (provided you can hit them and not go in the water). Greens were true and very fast and well guarded by both bunkers and water. Everyone at the club was very helpful and the clubhouse is magnificent. Would definitely advise anyone visiting this area to play Waterlefe-it's a must! Posted by Damian (Armagh, Ireland)

10/20/07 - One of my favorites. I could play this course everyday. Lots of water, but very wide fairways. Excellent sand. Posted by Karen (Chesterfield, MI).
