5/23/2010 - Excellent golf course, I would recommend it to all golfers whether a beginner or a low handicap player. In excellent shape. The only negative is, they should supply each golfer with water as it is very hot at this time of the year. All of the courses in the Sarasota area supply free drinking water to all golfers. 10/5/2009 - Great layout, really enjoyed this course out of the 4 we played. Two things missing- they need a GPS and can't believe you don't have water coolers on course. 3/27/2009 - This is a very nice course with friendly staff. Despite Florida's current drought, the course is well-maintained (a little brown, but in great shape). Lots of water, but not much of it came into play. A few holes where the houses seem to crowd the course. If you don't mind houses on a golf course, these won't bother you. If you don't like seeing houses, this isn't the place for you. A great place for the first round of a three/four day trip or the last place on the way to the airport. The greens were a little slow the first round, but despite heavy rain between rounds the greens maintained their playability. We really enjoyed the design and thought that went into the layout. About Plantation Palms Golf Club

In December 2000, Land O' Lakes Florida became home to a great course with the look and condition of an upscale private club. It has since gained a reputation as one of the very best courses in West Florida golf. Just 10 minutes north of Tee Times USA's North Tampa hotels, Plantation Palms is fair but challenging. Golf course architect David Harman, who also designed the award-winning Panther Lake and Crooked Cat Courses at well known Orange County National, carved this masterpiece from a 400-acre citrus grove that slopes from west to east, providing interesting elevation changes on many holes. The course quietly starts with a welcoming, 561-yard (from the back tees) par 5, then slowly steps it up with a mixture of adult-strength par 3's, elevation shifts and the attractive framing of greens with the use of pine trees, water and large, snow-white sand bunkers. The true-rolling, elevated greens have good movement and are a delight to even the most discriminating golfer. Water is in play on 17 of 18 holes.
