9/1/2011 - Very nice course, excellent condition, interesting holes with choice of strategy. Five sets of tees to accommodate players of all levels. Best feature, at least in August, was a small ice chest on the cart so your water bottle stays ice cold the whole round, much more useful than GPS since I have a rangefinder. 2/2/2010 - This course is incredible and the service and staff were second to none. Legacy is one of those courses that you'll always remember for its beauty, challenge and pristine condition. I have a 10 handicap and have played some nice courses in Pennsylvania, i.e. Nemacolin Woodlands, Olde Stonewall, Pittsburgh Field Club. 4/20/2009 - The Legacy GC provided us with a wonderful golfing experience from the moment of arrival to departure. The club is beautiful and the course has a few signature holes that my friends and I are still talking about. Even though we did not play our best golf we felt good about being at the course. All the water and wildlife added to the pleasure of playing the course. We spent time in the club house after the round and talked with the foursome that was ahead of us. It was good to hear that we were not the only ones having problems that day. The Legacy is a true and fair test of golfing skills. We look forward to playing it again in the near future. 10/19/07 - Have played this course before and as always found it to be an excellent test of golf. Par 5s leave the lower handicap golfer with the chance to get home in 2, while most of the par 3s are well guarded by water. All in all a great course in great condition. Directions from Generic Directions:
Legacy Golf Club is located in Sarasota, east of I-75. Take
I-75 to exit 213 (University Pkwy) in Sarasota. Take
University Pkwy east for approx. 2 miles to Legacy Blvd.
Turn left and take Legacy Blvd. north. Follow the signs to
the golf course.
Directions from Tampa Airport:
From the airport, go to I-275. Take I-275 south across the
Sunshine Skyway Bridge to I-75. Take I-75 south to exit 213-
University Pkwy. Go east on University Pkwy. for 2 miles and
turn left onto Legacy Blvd.
Directions from Treasure Island:
Go to I-275.Take I-275 south (across the Sunshine Skyway
Toll Bridge) to I-75 in Bradenton. Take I-75 south to exit
213 (University Pkwy.) in Sarasota. Take University Pkwy
east for approx. 2 miles to Legacy Blvd. Turn left and take
Legacy Blvd. north. Follow the signs to the golf course.
Directions from morning round:
Please ask the pro-shop staff for the quickest route to your
afternoon round.
