3/12/2013 - I had a great time playing Black Bear GC for the first time. The course is a great test of golf. The staff are very friendly and could not have made me more welcome. I played with 2 great guys who play the course often. My wife really enjoyed riding in the cart for the 18 holes and enjoying the Florida sun. Play this course if you get the chance. 3/21/2011 - Quite a drive from our hotel but well worth the travelling. We were pleasantly surprise by the warm welcome we received at the clubhouse for breakfast as well as on the golf course itself. We definitely recommend it to all golfers. Posted by Peter
3/17/2011 - Very nice course. However, you would be wise to have a local member in your group so that you get the scoop on where to hit. I misread a 15 foot put by 5 feet right. Not length, right. I am a bad putter, but not that bad. Very tricky.

11/13/2009 - We loved this course. Get ready for some sand though. Most every hole was heavily guarded by sand. On sand trap had to be two stories up to the hole. It has lots of rolling burms which added to the layout. There were three of us so they paired us with another golfer that knew the course. This helped tremendously. 1/29/2009 - The best course of our week. This is an open, very well kept course. Would play here again at any time. This was also the least expensive of all the courses we played. The whole staff, including the lawn mowing guys were great. You won't lose many balls here, but it's not easy and the greens were very consistent and well kept even though it was 32 degrees when we tee'd off at 7:30 am. Directions from Clermont:
From Clermont take US27 to SR19. Take SR19 north to SR44 in
Eustis. Take SR44 east to CR437. Take CR437 north to the end
(CR44 A) Take County Rd. 44A east for approx. 1/2 mile and
turn left at Roaches Grocery Store onto Lake Norris Rd.
Course will be 1/4 mile on your left hand side.
Directions from Florida Turnpike:
Take the Turnpike to Rte. 441. Take Rte. 441 east to Rte.
46/ Mount Dora. Take Rte. 46 east to the junction Rte. 437
north. Take Rte. 437 north to the end. Turn right/east on
Country Rd. 44A. Go 1/2 mile and turn left at Roaches
Grocery Store onto Lake Norris Rd. Course will be 1/4 mile
on your left.
Directions from Generic Directions:
The golf course is located in Eustis, northwest of Orlando.
From the I-4 / Rte 46 (exit 101 C) intersection in Sanford:
Take Rte 46 west for approx 13.5 miles to CR 437 north (If
you go into Sorrento, you've gone too far). Take CR437 north
to the end. Turn right/east onto 44A. Take 44A east to Lake
Norris Rd. by Roach's Grocery. Take Lake Norris Rd. north
and Black Bear is about 1/4 mile down the street.
Directions from Orlando Airport:
Go to Bee Line Expwy (Rte 528).
Take Rte 528 (Beach Line Expwy) west to I-4.
Take I-4 east to SR 46 (exit 101C).Take Rte 46 west for
approx 13.5 miles to CR 437 north (If you go into Sorrento,
you've gone too far). Take CR437 north to the end. Turn
right/east onto 44A. Take 44A east to Lake Norris Rd. by
Roach's Grocery. Take Lake Norris Rd. north and Black Bear

About Black Bear Golf Club
Black Bear Golf Club features some of the most unique holes in Florida golf. The course is a P. B. Dye designed Championship 18 hole links style par 72 golf course. The Black Bear layout extends well over 7,000 yards and features undulating greens, dramatic fairway elevation changes and over 120 natural sand bunkers set in pristine Florida golf surroundings. P. B. Dye designed the Black Bear course with multiple tee positions to be both a true challenge to the discerning golfer as well as an enjoyable experience for the recreational player.
