3/8/2013 - A real good test for us hacks. Weather did not cooperate so we didn't see as much wildlife as other years. Looking forward to next time. Posted by Terry (Mounds View, MN)

9/12/2012 - Our absolute favorite course, anywhere. Play every year during my time share week. Play on weekday and you almost have course to yourself. We always play 18 in morning, have a very good lunch in restaurant and play another 18. Replay rate fantastic. One time a bald eagle had lunch and watched us while we played a hole. The scenery, layout, challenge everything awesome. Buying a house here if I can every afford it. Posted by Bill Stires, Phila. PA ()

4/7/2011 - Very challenging (132 slope). Water and sand in play on every hole. It felt like every stroke. 2nd time for our group and worth the return trip. Posted by Dale (Flushing, MI)
3/24/2011 - Deer Island, is a course out of the way which is worth traveling the extra distance to get to. It is a great course where you WILL see Alligator's and snakes, what a great nature escape. Posted by Tom ()
3/21/2011 - excellent reception and service at the pro shop, the restaurant and on the golf course. A must include in your golf package Posted by Peter Ottawa Canada (Gatineau, QC CANADA)

3/2/2011 - We have played this course for the last few years. Very nice. Lots of water, everyone in our group loves this course, it was in good shape. Posted by Mark (Rr 1 Grassie, ON CANADA)
2/28/2011 - An enjoyable course that our group must play every year. Water on every hole makes it a challenge, however. Posted by David (Ottawa, ON CANADA)
2/28/2011 - Always a fun place to play, and we visit every year and will continue unless surcharges get out of line with other area courses. Posted by Mike
2/25/2011 - We enjoyed this course even though it was a bitterly cold day. Obviously lots of water and a challenge but not too much for me as a 19 handicapper. Posted by Sarah (TW17 8lt Shepperton, UNITED KINGDOM)
2/18/2011 - This course is a favorite for one of our players and is actually a good layout but well off the beaten path from our location near disney. Posted by Ted (Normal, IL)
12/3/2010 - The forty five minute drive from our lodgings was well worth the effort, we were rewarded with a a beautifully presented course in superb condition. The greens were smooth and true. On the day we played Deer Island we virtually had the course to our selves. If your in the area it's a must play ccourse. I'll certainaly be back. Posted by Gordon (UK)
10/23/2010 - No GPS but clearly marked maps on tees. Beautiful course like playing in a nature reserve. Really good value and well worth the visit Posted by Steve (St. John's, NL CANADA)
10/15/2010 - The course has some challenging holes and accuracy is at a premium. A lot of water but very enjoyable if you can control the ball. Wasn't impressed by the pro shop or the ancillary amenities but the course was a challenge and the conditions were excellent which made it a very enjoyable play. Posted by Ron (St. John's, NL CANADA)
5/13/2010 - Good drive out to the course but you will not be disapointed very nice lay out, nice fairways and good greens. Posted by Shaun (Hinckley, United Kingdom)
4/12/2010 - My favorite. Fun layout. Challenging. Worst day on the scorecard. Very enjoyable. Posted by Dale (Flushing, MI)
3/19/2010 - Although the ride was a little long to get there from Orlando, it was really worth the effort. Excellent condition, interesting holes, neat neighborhood...highly recommended. Posted by Roy (Beesley's Point, NJ)
3/18/2010 - Travel distance was a little farther, but the course was in great shape. Again all people were very helpful. All 8 of us played that day and had a nice time. Will return. Posted by Larry (Ida Grove, IA)
3/4/2010 - The best of the bunch we played- lots of wildlife and in great shape. Posted by Robert (Inver Grove, MN)
2/19/2010 - The course was challenging due to the conditions, 25-35 mph winds. We all would like to play again when a little less windy. Posted by Brett (Warrington, PA)
2/16/2010 - This is our second year playing this course. Our group of eight all enjoyed it. Very picturesque, good condition, lots of water. Will be back. Posted by Mark (Grassie, Canada)
2/11/2010 - We always play this course because it is the most challengeable place. We enjoyed this year also. Posted by Ho (Paramus, NJ)
2/11/2010 - This course has a lot of water both in front of greens and off the tee boxes. It kicked my butt. Both the course and the alligators made it a challenge. Posted by Thomas (Grafton, MA)
2/5/2010 - Great layout and worth the drive from Orlando. Gators and eagles to entertain. Lots of water in play. Challenging. Getting pricier every year, though. Posted by David (Ottawa, Canada)
1/13/2010 - Not often you can be 10 feet from a bald eagle in its natural habitat. Very nice course. Friendly staff. Definitely would play again despite the distance from Orlando. Posted by Cameron (East Falmouth, MA)
12/21/2009 - Having played on this course every time we visit Florida, it was slightly disappointing to find the front nine not up to its usual standard. On the plus side, the course is always quiet, even at the weekend, and you can normally play the round in under four hours. It is still a tough challenge and it's a real achievement to finish with the same ball you start with!!
Posted by Paul (York, United Kingdom)
11/13/2009 - This course has an awesome layout. This is the second time we have played it. The greens were not in as good of shape as normal with lots of burnt out patches. My teenage son wanted to see alligators and was not disappointed. Because of the layout, this is always on our play list. Posted by Randy (Flagler Beach, FL)
6/28/2009 - Course in fairly good shape with exception of a few tee boxes but were in the process of maintenance. We all left here with our bags considerably lighter from losing so many balls to the water hazards. The pro shop warns us that "most of the fairways slanted to the water." I guess if you played here enough you would know where the best landing areas are but it really punished us as far as scores. A little "off the beaten path" and some had to get directions even though we had maps. As at the other courses, we probably would have enjoyed it if it hadn't been so hot. Would I play it again? Yes, it's a nice course.
Posted by Robert (Jacksonville, FL)
3/27/2009 - Excellent course for the money. We are average 10 HCP. Love to play again next time. Posted by Charles
3/26/2009 - I enjoyed the course very much, a long drive to get to but worth it. Lot of Wildlife(Gators). Course was in great shape and the staff was excellent to us. Clifton Park , NY

3/16/2009 - Worth the drive up to Deer Island to play this course. Nice variety in holes. Fun. Posted by Dave
(FLAGLER BEACH, FL)
3/6/2009 - Loved this course. Beautilful layout. Alot of water. Had to hit your landing zones to score well. It was a little bit of a drive from Orlando, but well worth it for the price. Will definately go back. Posted by John (Poplar Grove, IL)
12/18/2008 - A fabulous course. One of my favorites. It is one of my must courses each year I go to Orlando. Posted by Richard (Troy, NY).
12/1/2008 - Great course, but the water took some getting use to. Would return to play again. Posted by Donald (Beth Page, NY).
12/1/2008 - Nice course - we always play here - well worth the drive. If you're not hitting it straight, then bring lots of balls, especially for the front nine. Posted by Paul (York Bradford, United Kingdom).
7/5/2008 - Excellent, as ever. People at the course very friendly and the course played well. Posted by Darren (Clermont, FL).
6/5/2008 - Nice layout. Unfortunately we stay near Universal Studios in Orlando every year and this course is just too far out of the way to play again. Would definitely recommend this course to anyone who likes to play scenic courses with lots of water. Winds also made this a challenge, but, in a good way. Posted by Dan (Waretown, NJ).
5/1/2008 - Excellent course. Posted by William (Maple Height, OH).
4/28/2008 - Same old Deer. Great views and if no wind, great day of golf. Appears that upkeep is down a little from past, mostly water seems to be receding. Still good test of golf. Posted by Ernie (Springfield, VA).
3/27/2008 - Our favorite course in Florida. Very good challenges, yet playable for the weekend golfer. Excellent staff. We play Deer Island every year, no houses to deal with, nature is fantastic, a bald eagle on the ground 20 yards from the tee box just watching, or laughing, at us. Most recommended course to play, excellent layout, very well maintained. Posted by Bill (Avon, OH).
3/27/2008 - Loved this course....lots of water (obviously), was in great shape, scenic with beautiful wildlife. Bring an extra sleeve of balls! Posted by Tim (Wethersfield, CT).
3/14/2008 - Found the staff to be pleasant and the course to e good and reasonably tough. Watch out for the gators! Posted by Steve.
3/12/2008 - Nice golf course and we were treated very well by the staff. Only negative would be out of the way location. However, I would play this course again and would recommend it to others. Posted by Peter (West Middlesex, PA).
2/7/2008 - Best course of the trip. Phenomenal conditioning, views and service. This is a $150 quality golf course at a third of the price. Don't miss your chance for a truly unique experience.
11/27/07 - Outstanding course! Good challenge, well maintained, pace of play is good. Best deal around in Orlando in my book! Posted by Richard (Williamsville, NY).
11/12/07 - Course was beautiful, but the driving distance is a bit more than the others. If you like a course with wildlife and lots of water, this is the place for you. Posted by Larry (Davenport, Iowa).
