Customer Reviews (31)

3/23/2010 - A nice course to play. A bit of a drive from Orlando, but well worth it if you play both Mission Innn courses on the same day. Posted by Jude (Hilliard, OH)

3/11/2010 - What a nice resort to play golf at. This is the second year we have played this course on a 5 day golf outing. Great course. Greens were affected by the cold weather in Florida this year. Posted by Bill (Brooklyn Park, MN)

2/26/2010 - Very underrated track. No other layout like this in Florida! If you like elevation changes and sidehill lies this one is for you! Posted by Dave (Hudson, NH)

2/8/2010 - The overall experience is very nice. Property is huge and well maintained wherever we went. We played El Campeon after a huge downpour. Some wet areas but still in excellent condition. Many people out there working on course. Posted by Richard (Newburgh, NY)

1/25/2010 - As we played very early in January this year and the temperatures were really low (55 F) the course wasn't crowded at all. It was totally empty! Beautiful course, landscape, fairways and greens. We will come back! Posted by Christiane (Munich, Germany)

1/13/2010 - Marvelous course. A must play. Worth the distance traveled! Nice dining facilities as well! Posted by Cameron (East Falmouth, MA)

12/22/2009 - Beautiful course, played 9 in the rain but finally gave up. Down and then back up so better know your clubs and allow for uphill second shots. Would like to play again. Posted by Don (Houston, TX)

12/12/2009 - Nice club with fantastic layout. The course was in very good shape, staff nice. Worth the drive from Orlando. Posted by Bengt (Svedala, Sweden)

12/6/2009 - Amazing. Old course but what a layout. One of the most beautiful and challenging courses you will ever play. Lots of elevation change and water carries. Posted by Harold (St. John's, Canada)

5/19/2009 - Great golf course. The course was quiet when we played it which added to the enjoyment. Greens were superb. Highly recommended and must play whilst in Orlando. Posted by Craig (Scotland).

4/21/2009 - Phenomonal golf course. Facilities are excellent. Worth the drive. Elevation changes are incredible. Beautiful
Posted by Lewis (Fairport, NY)

4/21/2009 - Los Colinas is different than El Campeon but just as nice. We played both and enjoyed them. Posted by Lewis (Fairport, NY)

4/2/2009 - Excellant course. Enjoyed it very much. A little out of the way while staying in Kissimmee but worth the trip. Posted by Bill (Brooklyn Park, MN)

3/27/2009 - Must play both courses in one day. It is very good for the money. We average 10 Handycap. Posted by Charles

3/26/2009 - Enjoyed both courses but this is the best and will definately play this when I come back. A good test for the lower handicapper. Posted by Peter (Lanarkshire,Scotland,UK)

2/27/2009 - Played 36 in one day. Not as crowded as the courses around Orlando. Staff very friendly. We booked El Campeon because it was the higher priced. While it is indeed worth the billing, Las Colinas was a nice surprise at the discounted rate. The back nine has been redesigned and quite the challenge. Those in our group who stayed to play Las Colinas were glad we did. Make the trip and make a day of it at Mission Inn. Posted by Andy (Mc Kees Rocks, PA)

2/26/2009 - Very old course, was okay. Posted by Dennis (Maple Grove, MN)

2/18/2009 - May change where we stay on future trips to the Orlando area and make this our hub. This facility and both golf courses rank very high on all our golfers list. We played 36. El Campeon lived up to its name, but Las Colinas was just as enjoyable and challenging, and at a discount to the higher priced El Campeon. Redesign of the back nine really improved the course. Best two conditioned courses of our trip. Posted by Andy (Pittsburgh, PA)

12/18/2008 - First time I played it. We were all awestuck with the course. Will be a must on our trip next year. Posted by Richard (Troy, NY).

12/18/2008 - We didn't play because of rain. The golf course was really nice in giving us a rain check to come back to play. Posted by Sue (Bradenton, FL)

9/12/2008 - Have played El Campeon 5 times over the last 20 years. Come from Wisconsin during the winter. This is sttill my favorite course anywhere in the U.S., and we have some awesome courses here in Wisconsin. Posted by Jeff (De Pere, WI).

3/20/2008 - A VERRRRY nice course, extremely plush and well manicured. Many elevation changes and a fair test of golf.
Posted by Ron (Waterford, MI)

3/20/2008 - Course was in very good condition but it was very windy that day with 25-30 mph gusts. Enjoy the course anyway.
Posted by William (Washington, DC).

2/27/2008 - About 40 miles from orlando, but worth the trip. Clubhouse not great and starter was non-existent, but the course was interesting. Greens were in good shape. Posted by Barry (Manalapan, NJ).

2/26/2008 - This is an exceptional golf course, it has elevation changes that you would not expect in Florida. A great layout that truly tests your game (6250-6300) from the white tees. Well bunkered, fast greens, and a little water make it a challenge.
Posted by Dan (Aston, PA).

1/14/2008 - Great course. One of the best in the Orlando area! A must play. Posted by Deuce.

12/12/2007 - Love the course. It will be first on our list next year. Would have liked the greens to be cut a little closer. Posted by Howard (Newton, NJ)

11/11/07 - We enjoyed this course very much. Mountain golf in Florida. The 17th hole was really fun although I lost a lot of balls. Think "Tin Cup"! Posted by Barbara (Northport, NY).

11/29/07 - Enjoyed this course immensely. Somewhat difficult for the higher handicap players. Posted by Michael (Naples, FL).

11/29/07 - Good golf course to play because of the hills and rolling terrain. A little difficult for ladies and higher handicap players. Posted by Ray (Naples Fl).

10/28/07 - Outstanding! Posted by Jose (Miami Springs, FL).

About Mission Inn El Campeon

7003-74.2-136 6250-70.7-129 4811-68.5-123
El Campeón, or "The Champion," was built in 1926, making it one of the south's oldest golf courses. Course architect Charles E. Clarke, of the famous Troon Golf Course in Scotland, took advantage of the natural rolling landscape to create a 7,003-yard monster with the highest elevation change (85 feet) of any course in the state. Consistently ranked in the Top 10 of Florida's 1,500 courses, rated with Zagat's America's Top Golf Courses 2007-2008, El Campeón was recently named the 2009 Florida Course of the year by the National Golf Course Owners Association. The course's signature 17th hole, dubbed "Devil's Delight" by its admirers and detractors, is a par 5, 556-yard double dogleg with a green guarded by bunkers and a pond.
