1/24/2012 - Very much a monster. I was walking the course with a caddy. That's the best way to play the course. The golf course is difficult and not for beginners or high handicapper. Greens were slow but the fairway and rough were in fantastic shape. Service is outstanding. Posted by Gabrielle (St. John'S, NL CANADA)
12/7/2011 - Nice course. Having a caddie was excellent. Posted by 8 guys from Canada on a golf trip (St. John'S, NL CANADA)
10/31/2011 - Found the course to be a great layout. Played Crandon Park golf club as well and thought this was a better all round package. Posted by David (NR33 0ne Lowestoft, UNITED KINGDOM)
6/17/2010 - Course was in great shape. People at pro-shop were very helpful. Enjoyed the expirience. Posted by Silvio (Lakeland, FL)
3/4/2010 - WOW!!. A fantastic course with lots of history. We had a great caddie (Jason) which made the day all the more enjoyable. Can't wait to play it again next year. Posted by Joe (Baltimore, MD)
8/11/2008 - Fantastic course...must for all to play. Posted by Robbie (Flagler Beach, FL).
6/3/2008 - What can I say, if you go to Miami for golf, you have to play the Blue Monster Posted by Curtis (Mitchellville, MD).
1/7/2008 - The course was beautiful and the staff was great. Good facilities all around, including eating, drinks, washrooms, etc. Posted by Andrew (Oakville, ON).
12/12/2007 - Just what you expect in a PGA level course - great driving holes, sand and/or water in play on almost every shot, and lightning fast greens. Too bad it is so expensive. Posted by BWD.
This resort, which was named to "Golf Digest's" 1998 list of "Silver Medal Resorts," has four outstanding eighteen hole courses. Playing these courses is considered to be the ultimate golfing experience. Since there are a variety of courses to choose from, every conceivable kind of challenge is available. The most demanding layout is the Blue Course. This course hosts the Doral-Ryder Open every year in March. "GOLF Magazine" even selected it to their 1998 list of "Top 10 PGA Courses You Can Play." "Golf Digest" chose this course as the 10th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and 11th in 1997-98. It was also selected by the same publication as 42nd in the category of "Top 75 Resort Courses" for 1996. "GOLF Magazine" selected the Blue Course 29th in the category of "Top 100 Course You Can Play in the U.S." for 1998. Ray Floyd redesigned this course prior to the 1997 Doral-Ryder Open. The Gold Course, which was also redesigned by Floyd, has narrow, well-bunkered fairways, including nine that are doglegs. The signature hole is #18, a 397-yard, par 4, which calls for an approach shot to an island green. The Red Course was redesigned in 1989 and features undulating greens that can be difficult to read. Hole #5 was changed from a par 5 to a par 3 in 1997. The White Course has rolling fairways and greenside sand bunkers. All four courses have water hazards coming into play, including the Gold Course, which has water in play on every hole. The Doral Golf Learning Center with Jim McLean is located on the premises. Caddies are mandatory if you choose to walk the courses.
