5/4/2012 - Played the Great White Course and the Maclean Course. Great White was in great shape and glad that I can now say that I played at least one of the Doral courses. Should have scheduled better so I could have played the Blue Monster at an inexpensive afternoon rate. Liked White much better than the Maclean course where greens were rock hard and impossible for an 8 handicapper to putt. When you check in for Doral White and Blue, you feel like you are at a 5 star golf resort. Beautiful golf resort. Maclean is a different story. You check in at another location and the feel is completely different. Moreover, it does NOT have a driving range (mats ONLY). Much too expensive for the experience. Would not play again for $150. Posted by William (Carmel, IN)

4/26/2012 - Fantastic course! Great layout with some tough holes. Enjoyed playing in the wind! In great condition considering its a resort course with lots of usage! Would definitely play again!! Posted by Adrian (07180 Santa Ponsa, SPAIN)

4/26/2012 - Great course with nice layout! Some superb holes with Very interesting Tee shots! A definite play again course. Posted by (St. John'S, NL CANADA)

12/7/2011 - Much more interesting course than the monster and better bang for your buck. Still get to see Doral, the resort and some of the Blue Monster holes from the clubhouse. Posted by 8 guys from Canada on a golf trip (St. John'S, NL CANADA)

12/2/2011 - Nice, difficult course in the wind, even for a 6 handi. Would play again. Posted by Kwon (Fairfax, VA)

1/30/2011 - I played White in the morning and Maclean signature (Silver) in the afternoon. The white is nicer and the greens and fairways were in good shape. Clubhouse, resort is fantastic but extremely expensive Posted by Andre (Varennes, QC CANADA)

8/19/2010 - A superb course! Great service in the pro shop and from the starter. Posted by David (United Kingdom)

11/15/2009 - Please play the White as well as the Blue. I will come back to play the Gold, White and Blue for sure. I have heard the Gold should be the best but didn't have the chance to do so. I assume that the Gold is in the same outstanding condition like the Blue and the White and it is truly an outstanding experience to play there. Coming from the hospitality business I have to place my compliments to the Bellmen - outstanding performance and very well trained. Posted by Florian

4/20/2009 - Fun track. Bring earplugs and hope the wind's not blowing. Posted by Joe (Newton, MA)

5/19/2008 - What can I say...great location, well organized just flat out fun and a great way to end the trip...voted the favorite by all. Posted by Francis (Phoenix, AZ).

12/13/2007 - Beautiful, but seriously in the middle of town with noise, airplanes, and sirens. Absolutely not worth the outrageous fees over $200. Not worth it by any means! Posted by Allan (Millburn, NJ).

This resort, which was named to "Golf Digest's" 1998 list of "Silver Medal Resorts," has four outstanding eighteen hole courses. Playing these courses is considered to be the ultimate golfing experience. Since there are a variety of courses to choose from, every conceivable kind of challenge is available. The most demanding layout is the Blue Course. This course hosts the Doral-Ryder Open every year in March. "GOLF Magazine" even selected it to their 1998 list of "Top 10 PGA Courses You Can Play." "Golf Digest" chose this course as the 10th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and 11th in 1997-98. It was also selected by the same publication as 42nd in the category of "Top 75 Resort Courses" for 1996. "GOLF Magazine" selected the Blue Course 29th in the category of "Top 100 Course You Can Play in the U.S." for 1998. Ray Floyd redesigned this course prior to the 1997 Doral-Ryder Open. The Gold Course, which was also redesigned by Floyd, has narrow, well-bunkered fairways, including nine that are doglegs. The signature hole is #18, a 397-yard, par 4, which calls for an approach shot to an island green. The Red Course was redesigned in 1989 and features undulating greens that can be difficult to read. Hole #5 was changed from a par 5 to a par 3 in 1997. The White Course has rolling fairways and greenside sand bunkers. All four courses have water hazards coming into play, including the Gold Course, which has water in play on every hole. The Doral Golf Learning Center with Jim McLean is located on the premises. Caddies are mandatory if you choose to walk the courses.

About Doral Great White

A Greg Norman Signature Course, the 7,171-yard, par-72 Great White Course is the only golf course of its kind in the Southeastern United States that utilizes coquina -- crushed shells -- as the primary design element on every hole. In designing the Great White, Norman blended strategically demanding fairways with hundreds of palm trees. He then laid out the course in a manner where water comes into play on 14 of the 18 holes, which makes for a challenging, but picturesque Great White Golf Course. Host to the PGA TOUR's Franklin Templeton Shoot-Out in 2000, the Great White was rated as the best new golf course of 2000 by the National Golf Foundation.
